The son of House of Delegates Majority Leader Kirk Cox is facing drug charges Thursday.
According to court records, Carter Adkins Cox was pulled over for having an expired license plate. During the traffic stop officers found marijuana in his car. The 18-year-old Colonial Heights High School student is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
A spokesman for the Virginia Republican Party said in a statement "this is a personal issue that Delegate Cox and his family will work through together."
