A center that helps small businesses is looking to find a place closer to some of its Augusta County customers. Right now, people wanting to benefit from the Small Business Development Center have to drive to Harrisonburg.
Now they're looking into a meeting space at the Augusta County Government Center in Verona. It's not official yet, but the center would be available to existing small businesses as well as new business ventures.
"They offer services that help you get your business plan. Help you evaluate your capital needs, your working plans, your location, identifying potential grant opportunities or loan opportunities that may be available through the Small Businesses Development Center," said Dennis Burnett, Augusta County economic development director.
The Small Business Development Center also offers free seminars on how to start your business, healthcare reform, and technology and innovation.
