iPhones, iPods and iPads - many of us have these gadgets but do we really know how to use them? A course at Piedmont Virginia Community College is showing people how to make the most use of their Apple devices.
The series of classes are called iLearn. They're non-credit classes offered through the PVCC Workforce Services department. Instructors provide information about basic settings and how to use simple apps.
PVCC administrators say the courses can teach people exciting new ways to use Apple products while also teaching important technical skills that are appealing to future employers.
The basic classes are free and the intermediate and advanced classes are around $30. Classes are already filling up.
Pat O'Rourke of PVCC Workforce Services said, "A word processing program, a spreadsheet program, a presentation program, we have a movie making program, photo editing, so each of those is a separate class."
The next courses are iPad intermediate and iPhone intermediate. They will take place Tuesday, January 29.
