People on both sides of the gun control debate descended on the State Capitol in Richmond Monday for what has come to be known as "Lobby Day."
Gun rights advocates spent part of the morning rallying in Capitol Square, before approaching their respective lawmakers in the General Assembly. Later, gun control groups gathered near the Capitol Bell tower for a rally and "lie-in" to call for an end to gun violence.
Gun issues are generating lively discussion in Richmond this session, partly in reaction to the deadly shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School last month.
