A $33 million renovation at the University of Virginia is in its final stretch.
Newcomb Hall only has its game room left on the list of spaces to be upgraded. Renovations started on the 55-year-old building in May 2010.
Most of the lower level's spaces received a makeover that included systems upgrades, a fresh coat of paint and newer, built-in technology.
The university says response has been positive.
"Really like the open space, particularly the first floor, like the ability to be able to see on the second floor, you know, as you're going down the corridor, the various dining options there, students activities space - we're sort of expanded a little bit," said Charles Rush, Newcomb Hall manager.
The project's timeline is a bit behind schedule, as it was scheduled to be complete this past summer. The last space in Newcomb Hall is expected to be complete this spring.
