The Charlottesville High School string ensemble took on a children's classic in front of a big audience Saturday.
NBC29's Clayton Stiver narrated the story featuring music from Peter and the Wolf, which uses different instruments and themes to represent the characters.
The show got rave reviews from parents and children.
"It was interesting to see her be engaged by it, I think without that story element she wouldn't have been able to watch the whole thing and listen to it," said Katie and Reese Harper.
After the performance the audience flooded the stage for a musical instrument petting zoo. Kids got to play the instruments and try their hand at conducting.
