Charlottesville playwrights, actors and directors are getting ready for a whirlwind performance.
Friday Whole Theatre kicks off the 24/7 festival to benefit Live Arts. Playwrights will learn the theme Friday at 7 p.m. and immediately get to work.
Saturday morning actors and directors will be randomly assigned to each play, then the actors will give it their best shot in a performance tomorrow night.
"Actors are like athletes. They work out all the time. And then this takes that workout and condenses all that energy into it. A lot of these actors are prepared to run a marathon and what they're going to be challenged with is like a 5k or a 10k," said Ray Nedzel, Whole Theatre founder.
Tickets are still available for the Saturday's performances at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
