Despite being invited to the MLS pre-draft combine, and projected as a possible first round selection during the season, Virginia senior forward Will Bates was not selected during Thursday's MLS SuperDraft.
Bates scoring 12 goals for the UVA men's soccer team during his senior season, and is 7th in program history with 46-career goals.
Virginia has had 43-players players picked in the MLS SuperDraft in the history of the program, with Hunter Jumper going in the second round last year.
Bates is expected to be picked in the MLS Supplemental Draft next Tuesday.
