The Virginia wrestling team is now ranked #11 in the nation, which is the highest the team has ever been ranked in program history.
The 'Hoos will compete at home for the first time in two and a half months this weekend, as the Cavaliers host Duke Sunday at Memorial Gymnasium.
UVA has been wrestling all over the country against some tough competition since their last home meet in November.
Junior Nick Sulzer says, "Each person has wrestled someone who is nationally ranked at least three or four times, so as far as going into NCAA's, we're getting more recognized because we're getting better match-ups and getting better wins."
Virginia head coach Steve Garland says, "With the six guys nationally ranked, I think it should be more. I think we should have eight or nine guys nationally ranked. I just feel like we have a lot of really good wrestlers on the team. Guys that live their life right. It sounds cliche but it's a fact."
Fifth year senior Matt Snyder adds, "That's what we've been putting the work in for, and we just hope it continues to happen with our work, and we're excited about it."
UVA will wrestle at North Carolina Friday, before hosting Duke on Sunday.
