A Charlottesville man charged with assault entered into a guilty plea Thursday morning. Laquan Thomas pleaded guilty to an attempted malicious wounding and use of a firearm.
He was arrested in July after police say he shot into a car with people inside along Prospect Avenue. The shooting happened two months earlier on May 22.
No one was hurt. Thomas was sentenced to serve three years of a 13-year sentence. The other 10 years were suspended.
