FLUVANNA MAN DIES IN SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH
FLUVANNA CO., Va. – At approximately 11:53 p.m., Virginia State Police Sr. Trooper M.J. Covert, responded to a single-vehicle crash Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Fluvanna County.
The incident occurred on Route 639 (Longacre Road) approximately 2/10's of a mile west of Route 640 (Hayden Martin Road).
A 2002 Ford F-250 pick-up was headed eastbound on Route 639 when the vehicle ran off the road twice. After the second time, the pick-up struck a ditch and overturned – ejecting the driver.
The driver, William A. Haislip, 44, of Fluvanna, was transported by ambulance to UVA Medical Center where he later died. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.
