Augusta Sheriff's Office Investigating Rash of Thefts from Vehicles

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a rash of thefts from vehicles that have occurred in the Verona area. In the past two days 11 incidents have been reported to the Sheriff's Office.

For the past two nights thieves have targeted UNLOCKED vehicles on Rolla Mill Road,  Mill Stone Drive, River View Drive and Maury Mill Road in Verona. Items taken from vehicles include a handgun, tools, cash, cigarettes, CD's, radios and other assorted items.  

The Sheriff's Office requested that all citizen's remain diligent in LOCKING their vehicles and securing their valuables. We also urge citizens to report any suspicious activity.
