A jury has acquitted a man accused in a Greenville shooting. The verdict in favor of James Michael Drumheller, 38, came down late Wednesday in Augusta County Circuit Court.
He faced a felony charge of unlawful wounding after being accused of shooting his daughter's boyfriend last March.
The defense claimed the apparent victim had threatened Drumheller's daughter and newborn grandson and that he was protecting them. The jury agreed, returning a not guilty verdict in just 20 minutes.
