New York Man Sentenced for Malicious Wounding in Albemarle

A New York man will spend a little over a month in prison for a malicious wounding in Albemarle County. Huy Nguyen of Plattsburgh was sentenced to 3 years. All were suspended but 40 days.

Nguyen, 29, stabbed a man at Abbington Crossing Apartments in July 2011.

At Wednesday's sentencing, the victim said he was stabbed all over his body, including just above the eye. He also said his scars constantly remind him about what happened that night.

Along with 40 days in prison, Nguyen will be under supervised probation for one year.
