A former staff member at the Frontier Culture Museum is accused of bilking the agency of $40,000.
Michael Sutton was the marketing director at the state-run facility in Staunton, until he was fired in November. The museum director says 40-year-old Sutton used an official credit card for personal purchases for at least a year.
Sutton faces 19 counts of obtaining money by false pretenses.
He's scheduled for his first court appearance on January 25.
