A fire truck with a patriotic message is traveling cross-country after stops in Charlottesville and Albemarle County Saturday.
The Made in America Fire Truck Tour stopped at the University of Virginia and the Wal-Mart store on Route 29.
The truck's drivers are encouraging people they meet along the way to buy local, and hoping the message will spread to the retailers.
"I had a company that really relied on a healthy middle class for my business and as the unemployment rate grew, it really hurt my business and the result was that I had to lay off people and slow my business down and eventually we had to close my business," said Aaron Lorell, a fire truck driver.
The team wants stores to have sections for American-made goods, like the organic sections at grocery stores.
