Charlottesville High School's orchestra is getting ready to perform a children's classic. The orchestra's string ensemble will be presenting Peter and the Wolf next Saturday afternoon. NBC 29's Clayton Stiver will be narrating the tale.
The director says they encourage parents to bring young children to the concert.
"We're very excited because it is a child-friendly concert and generally, we've sold out. We've had up to 1,100 people at these performances in the past and after the concert we're doing a musical instrument petting zoo," said Laura Mulligan Thomas, Charlottesville High School orchestra director.
Tickets are $10 for children and $15 for adults. The money will help fund the ensemble's trip to a national competition in New York City this April.
