A game-tying shot by senior Tarik Hislop bounced off the front of the rim as time expired, and the James Madison women's basketball team lost 48-46 against Drexel in their CAA home opener Thursday night.
Hislop scored 13 points to lead the Dukes, and was the only JMU player in double figures.
Hollie Mershon scored a game-high 20 for the Dragons, and hit two free throws with 4 seconds for the game-winning points.
The final four seconds were only time Drexel (9-4, 2-0 CAA) led the entire game.
JMU was up by as many as 15 points in the in the 1st half, and 13 in the 2nd.
The loss snaps a 4 game winning streak for the Dukes.
James Madison (7-7, 1-1 CAA) will host Northeastern Sunday at 2pm.
