Charlottesville Foundation to Dedicate Schools in Haiti

Thursday night, a team from Charlottesville's Building Goodness Foundation (BGF) is heading to Haiti.

As the three-year anniversary of the earthquake that devastated Haiti approaches, the group will dedicate two schools that were recently built there: a secondary school and a trade school.

BGF is also wrapping up work on the completion of 200 homes.

"We're working with a very well established group on the ground to train Haitian youth to build with standards that we would help teach. In other words they're going be building buildings that are very earthquake resistant," said Kelly Eplee, BGF's executive director.

Twenty-five teams worked on both schools. The dedication ceremonies are this weekend and NBC29 will be there reporting starting Tuesday.
