The state Supreme Court said Charlottesville Circuit Court Judge Edward Hogshire was wrong in reducing a multi-million dollar award in a wrongful death case Thursday.
The justices say Hogshire should not have cut the jury's original award to Isaiah Lester, the widower of a woman crushed to death when an Allied Concrete truck rolled over onto her car in 2007.
Isaiah Lester had been given $6.2 million by the jury. Hogshire cut it by $4.1 million. The state's high court returned that reward to Lester on Thursday.
