A University of Virginia student learned his punishment Tuesday for child pornography charges.
Ralph Rogers will spend two and a half years behind bars, followed by a year on supervised probation.
He pleaded guilty in August 2012 to 10 counts of possessing child pornography. He was sentenced to 45 years on each of the other counts, but that time was all suspended.
Rogers was arrested in December of 2011 after investigators searched his Lambeth Field dorm and seized a computer and other electronic devices.
