Former UVA Quarterback Michael Rocco is transferring to the University of Richmond to play under his Uncle, Danny Rocco.
Rocco is one of three players who signed an athletics grant-in-aid Monday, January 7, 2013.
"We are all very excited about these additions to our program," head coach Danny Rocco said.
He added, "All three student-athletes have outstanding resumes as well as transferring in from competitive academic institutions. Our ability to continue to build depth and to create an element of heightened competition will increase our probability for continued success."
Rocco comes to Richmond after playing for the University of Virginia for three years.
Rocco played in 30 games for the 'Hoos and started 21 times.
His 2,671 passing yards in 2011 made him the 4th best single-season passer in Virginia history. Rocco is also ranked 8th on Virginia's all-time passing list with 4,731 yards.
Under NCAA rules - Rocco must serve a year in residency but Richmond is actively seeking a Waiver so Rocco will be eligible to play at the beginning of the Spiders 2013 season.
