Staunton Man Arrested, Accused of Stabbing Neighbor

A Staunton man has been jailed after a stabbing over the weekend.

Dewey Lee Bowers III, 36, faces a charge of malicious wounding.

Staunton police say he was fighting with a neighbor over accusations of stolen property. It happened early Saturday morning at their apartment building on College Circle.

Investigators say Bowers suffered an injury to the forehead, then stabbed the 22-year-old victim in the belly with a kitchen knife.

As of Monday afternoon, there was no word on that man's condition.
