UVA Loses Tough Fight to Miami 58-52

The Virginia Women's Basketball team lost a back and forth battle Sunday as they fell 58-52 to Miami at Coral Gables.

The 'Hoos trailed by as many as 14 in the second half but Virginia went on a 16-2 run to help them take the lead.

With nine minutes remaining in the game - Ataira Franklin drilled a 3-pointer that put Virginia ahead by 1.

But it wouldn't be enough - as the Hurricanes pulled away later in the half to win their third ACC match-up this season.

The 'Hoos fell to 9-5 on the season and 1-2 in the ACC.

Kelsey Wolfe had a game high 18 points. Wolfe shot 6-for-13 from the field.

Senior Telia McCall had her first double - double of the year with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Virginia will be on the road again next week as they take on Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Thursday, January 10 at 7 p.m.
