The Nelson County SPCA is looking for loving homes for some very special critters.
Right now, four kittens with cerebellar hypoplasia are in foster care - along with their mother - waiting to be adopted. That disorder affects the kittens' motor function, so they have trouble walking.
The kittens have varying levels of difficulty getting around. But, they all have a normal life expectancy.
"They love playing with toys, they love being normal cats, it's just sometimes what their brain tells them to do, their body doesn't necessarily cooperate with," said Heidi Freitager, foster parent and SPCA volunteer.
Because the cats have special needs, it is difficult for the SPCA to adopt them out.
Their foster mom says they don't require any extra attention or cost to the owner.
