A new cafe in Charlottesville will start serving up hot drinks to benefit a regional agency serving seniors.
The new Vinegar Hill Cafe will open Monday inside the Jefferson School City Center. Its profits will support the Jefferson Area Board for Aging or JABA.
JABA'S community planner says she wants the cafe to become more than just a place to grab a coffee on the go.
"We not only want to serve local nutritious food, but we want to have things happening in the cafe where folks can come in and listen to music, maybe see artwork from local artists and promote young musicians up and coming," said Judy Berger, the JABA community planner.
The cafe opens Monday morning at 7. Nine other non-profits will occupy the renovated Jefferson school.
