A central Virginia legislator is making a point to meet with his constituents ahead of the 2013 legislative session Wednesday.
25th District Delegate Steve Landes (R) wrapped up a trio of town hall meetings Saturday afternoon in Crozet. More than a dozen people came out to the Lodge at Old Trail to talk about issues including uranium mining, University of Virginia Board of Visitors' transparency, and gun control.
"I always find out where peoples' concerns are," Landes said. "We related to the issues of what happened in Connecticut. That's going to be a big issue about school safety and how we approach that so I got a lot of good input about that."
Landes says he is personally focusing on two pieces of legislation - a federal oversight commission to improve communication between the General Assembly and members of Congress and the board of visitors' governance changes.
