A Charlottesville man is doing his part to help stop bullying in schools. Freddy Jackson wrote the song "Free" to bring awareness to bullying.
The song is about kids dealing with bullying in schools, a topic that hits close to home for Jackson.
"The inspiration it was really heartfelt. I knew a few guys, friends of friends that committed suicide because they were being bullied at school. And it just kind of lingered with me. It's an unfortunate and sad situation," said Jackson.
Jackson handed out over 500 flyers on Charlottesville's downtown mall Thursday afternoon.
