Augusta Health Welcomes its First Baby of the New Year - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather

Augusta Health has welcomed its New Year's baby, who arrived with just minutes to spare.

Avrey Amani Bommel was born shortly before midnight Tuesday at the hospital in Fishersville. His proud parents are Danielle Budel and Enrico Bommel of Lexington. 

Avrey's grandmother and great-grandmother joined him in the recovery room, and family members have made sure he has all he needs. "A lot of clothes. His bed is already made. He has little decals on the way. He has two piggy banks already with money in there and two bank accounts, so he's good," said his mother. 

For being its first newborn of the new year, Avrey received gifts from Augusta Health and from the family that had the New Year's baby last year.
