A building dedicated to serving the senior population is making changes to be more senior-friendly.
The Valley Program for Aging Services in Waynesboro is undergoing a $500,000 renovation.
The building is 60 years old and now has central air, a more efficient heating system and replacement windows. One of the biggest changes will provide a handicap accessible bathroom on the Senior Center level.
"As a senior center, we really need that. Not everybody needs those, but those that do as a senior center we needed to have that in place," said Janice Gentry, director of the Waynesboro Senior Center.
Renovations are scheduled to be done within the next two weeks.
