About a dozen homes and businesses were without water in Augusta County following the second water main break this week.
Crews say an 8-inch main broke around 8 a.m. Thursday. The break is located along Route 340 near Stuarts Draft High School.
Workers attribute the break to temperature changes, and they hoped to have it repaired by Thursday night.
"In this situation, we're digging through the road, all the traffic, by the time we get down to the pipe we have to find where the problem is and then we'll put a band on it, repair clamp," said Chad Hammer, who was repairing the water main.
This is Augusta County's second break this week; a water main also broke on Christmas Day in Fort Defiance.
The water main break was fixed at approximately 9:45 p.m. Thursday.
