The Virginia Department of Transportation has put out an advisory asking people not to travel Wednesday because of bad weather conditions. They have had road crews out all day Wednesday, and even some since Tuesday night.
Judy Mueller, the director of Charlottesville's Public Works Department says the city's streets were salted Tuesday night, but crews had to go back over them Wednesday when the rain came through.
Crews focused especially hard on bridges and overpasses.
Mueller says these kinds of storms are the hardest for the city to clean up after because they are a combination of rain, snow and sleet.
