Albemarle County police are investigating an accident on Route 29 near Red Hill Road Monday morning.
Police say a Dodge pickup was driving southbound on Route 29 around 9:30 a.m. when slick road conditions caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The pickup hit the guardrail twice before flipping over it. The driver was ejected from the vehicle into the northbound lanes of Route 29.
The driver was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center. The extent of his injuries is unclear, but police say he was alert and talking before being transported to the hospital.
