Time is quickly winding down if you're looking to buy a last-minute Christmas tree from lots around Charlottesville. The annual Boy Scouts tree sales have been a popular attraction this holiday season.
Boys from over 20 troops in the Monticello scouting district helped to sell the trees at seven different lots.
The profits will stay local, with part of them going directly to the scouts. "Profits will go back to the troops, to the individual boys and the money there will go into their scout accounts for doing activities like summer camp, or buying equipment and things like that. That's 60 percent of the profits," said David Hietanen, Christmas tree sales coordinator.
One sales coordinator says he expects all trees to be sold out by Friday night. The lot on Barracks Road is the only one left with trees.
