It may not be music to many political ears, but Virginia Organizing is singing out for the season and the fiscal cliff.
The activist group is caroling across the state at congressional offices, encouraging politicians to come together and make some headway. Thursday, members struck up some familiar tunes at Republican Robert Hurt's office in Charlottesville.
"It's important because it's not fair that the least well off in society, and the middle class, should have to suffer because they can't balance a budget," said member of Virginia Organizing Nia Bental.
In a recent column on his website, Hurt cautioned that the President and Senate's inaction is inching us close to a deep recession.
