Central VA Lawmakers to Discuss Gun Control, Medicaid and More at UVA

Posted: Updated:

Lawmakers from Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley return to the University of Virginia Wednesday. They are set to discuss a variety of issues that promise to make headlines when the 2013 legislative session kicks off next month.

On January 9 legislators will return to Richmond for the 2013 General Assembly Session.

Wednesday, some of the lawmakers from Central Virginia are gathering at UVA's rotunda to talk about their priorities, something the university does every year.

In light of the tragedy in Newtown Connecticut on Friday, people are expecting to hear a lot about gun control. A discussion about the Affordable Care Act, and Medicaid expansion is also likely.

Because the event is held at UVA, the discussion will also likely turn to higher education, and how legislators will address the fallout from President Sullivan's failed ouster in June.

The forum is free and open to the public.
