Update (12/17/12) - A judge denied bond for 52-year-old Mark L. Weiner, of Barboursville, Monday morning. His trial hearing has been scheduled for January 3.
A Barboursville man is in custody after investigators say he abducted a woman Thursday. Mark L. Weiner, 52, is being held in the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail.
The victim says Weiner gave her a ride from the city of Charlottesville to the Pantops area early Thursday morning. Police say the victim was taken against her will to a remote location off Richmond Road. The victim and the suspect do not know each other.
Weiner has been charged with abduction and awaits a bond hearing on Monday.

In the early morning hours on Thursday, December 13th, the Albemarle County Police responded to the Pantops area for a reported abduction. The victim, an adult female, stated that she was given a ride from the City of Charlottesville to the Pantops area. The victim was taken against her will to a remote location off of Richmond Road. The victim and the suspect are not acquaintances.
The investigation of this incident has led to the arrest of Mark L. Weiner. Weiner, 52 years of age, of Barboursville, has been charged with abduction.
Weiner is being held at the Albemarle/Charlottesville Regional Jail awaiting a bond hearing on Monday, December 17th in the Albemarle County General District Court.
