Driver Taken to Hospital After Crash Near Barracks Road

A crash near Barracks Road Shopping Center caused some traffic delays during Wednesday night's commute.

Police say the crash happened when the driver of an SUV lost control while turning onto Barracks Road from Surry Drive. The vehicle crossed over into westbound traffic, crashed into a tree and flipped over.

The female driver was taken to University of Virginia Medical Center. There is still no word on her condition.
