Greene County Board of Supervisors to Consider IIHS Rezoning

Greene County's Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is planning a multimillion dollar expansion.

Tuesday night, the board of supervisors will consider a request to rezone 25 acres of the vehicle research center's Dairy Road property near Ruckersville to allow for industrial use.

The institute tells NBC29 its board has approved up to $30 million to expand its outdoor test track.

If supervisors approve the rezoning, IIHS says construction could begin in 2013.
