Second Bond Hearing for Mall Abduction Suspect Pushed Back

Posted: Updated:

Update (12/11/12): The bond hearing for James Kevin Key has been delayed until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Albemarle County Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court.

The  man accused of an attempted abduction at Fashion Square Mall in November will remain behind bars at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.  James Kevin Key's bond hearing was scheduled for Monday afternoon, but he'll have to wait until Tuesday before a judge will review his case.

Key is charged with felony abduction after police say he tried to take a 2-year-old girl from her parents at the mall.  The 46-year-old Palmyra man first appeared for a bond hearing November 30.  In the hearing, Key's lawyer claimed he suffers from a seizure disorder and he might have had one at the time of the incident.

At that time, the judge granted the defense a few days so they could provide proper documentation from a doctor.

At this point, it is unclear why Key's bond hearing was pushed back again.
