Innisfree Village, a voluntary community for adults with intellectual disabilities, is getting ready for an open house on Saturday.
The people who live and work in Innisfree Village are very excited to show it off to visitors. They'll be selling tote bags and scarves they make in the weavery, as well as spoons and cutting boards they make in the woodshop.
"I feel like that spirit of working together, living together, everybody pitching in according to their level of ability is something that the world can use more of," said Rhonda Miska, office manager and community coordinator at Innisfree.
Members of the Innisfree community say that even though they are tucked away in the mountains in Crozet, they still want to be a part of the greater Charlottesville and Albemarle community.
The open house will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. They will have tours of the village running every hour, activities for children, and crafts at the weavery, woodshop, pottery, bakery and gardens.
