Update: Police Locate Wanted Sex Offender

UPDATE:  Police say Mr. Terry was captured at 5:45 p.m. Friday near The Crossings. 


Charlottesville police need your help to locate a wanted sex offender.

Fifty-five-year-old Howard Terry is wanted after he failed to update his address with Virginia State Police, which is a violation of the sex offender registry.

Terry was convicted of rape in July of 2002.  Investigators say he is considered a violent felon, believed to still be in the Charlottesville area.

If anyone has information on his whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.

Charlottesville police would like your help in locating Howard Lee Terry, a black male. He is 55 years old, 5'10" and weighs 185 pounds.

Mr. Terry is wanted on an outstanding warrant for violation of the Sex Offender Registry.

He is a violent felon and is believed to still be in the Charlottesville area.

If your information leads to an arrest there will be a reward.
