Augusta Regional SPCA Promotes Older Pet Adoption with Donation Drive

Posted: Updated:

This weekend you can find a new four-legged friend and give it a chance to share a wish list with Santa Claus.

The Augusta Regional SPCA is hosting a donation drive this Saturday in Staunton focusing on older animals. Dogs and cats over one year of age come with discounted adoption fees.

At the same time, the nonprofit is hosting a fundraising favorite, the annual Santa and Pet Photo Shoot.

"It's just a way for them to show their pets off, because they're so excited when they come in to have the picture taken. They make great presents for the holiday to other family members and it's a way for them to support the SPCA and get a picture of their favorite animal," said Augusta SPCA Director Debbie Caywood.

The adoption and portrait events both start at 10 a.m. at Staunton Subaru on Lee Jackson Highway.
