Charges against Augusta Shooting Suspect Set Aside for Now

Posted: Updated:

Prosecutors have set aside the charges against the suspect in an Augusta County shooting, but the case may not be over.

Jason Dale Rummel, 28, had faced four felony counts stemming from a July incident near Weyers Cave. Investigators said Rummel shot at a man who allegedly owed him money.

But prosecutors tell us that witnesses at a hearing Monday afternoon were "uncooperative."

The commonwealth still has the option of taking the case to a grand jury.
