Augusta Man Will Serve 5 Years on Felony Sex Charges

An Augusta County man is headed to prison after trying to arrange a tryst with an underage girl.

Forty-six-year-old James Maloy Hiner of Augusta Springs pleaded guilty Monday afternoon to three felony sex charges.

Hiner was caught by a Staunton police officer who posed as an underage girl on the internet. Prosecutors say he sent nude pictures of himself and performed a sex act in front of a webcam.

Hiner was arrested in July when he arranged to meet the "girl" in Staunton's Gypsy Hill Park.

He'll serve five years in prison.
