UVA Administrators Ring Bells to Benefit Salvation Army

Posted: Updated:

The beginning of the holiday season also kicks off a season of giving.

Monday morning, University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan and Executive Vice President Pat Hogan brought out their bells in front of Mincer's to help the Salvation Army.

The administrators spent part of their day ringing to raise money for the organization, which will use those funds to help families in the Charlottesville area this holiday season.

Sullivan said, "We are a tight-knit community, and those of us at the university who are fortunate to be able to work here and those who are fortunate enough to study here, this is a community that likes to give back, and we do that every year."

If you're looking for a way to help give back, the Salvation Army is looking for more bell ringers this holiday season.  Click here to find out how you can get involved.
