Some hometown movie stars graced the "Lincoln" audience at the Regal Cinemas in Albemarle County Sunday afternoon.
The central Virginia natives are amputees, and they played amputees in the film, ranging from soldiers on the battlefield to hospital patients. Sunday they gathered with their family and friends to see their big screen debut.
Timothy Decker, an extra in the "Lincoln" movie, said, "We're the only amputees really in the movie and we're from Virginia, we're locals."
"We don't get to meet too many younger amputees, so it was neat to hang around with same-aged amputees, that otherwise we would probably never meet," said Robert Wilharm, another "Lincoln" extra.
The central Virginia stars also got to meet some celebrities on set such as Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones. You can catch the "Lincoln" movie in theaters now.
