The United Nations General Assembly has voted by a more-than-two-thirds majority to recognize the state of Palestine. The resolution upgrades the Palestinians' status to a non-member observer state at the UN.

A group of people in Charlottesville stood in solidarity with ralliers across the country Thursday to support Palestine.

The Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice held a rally at the federal courthouse Thursday afternoon. It was all part of an international day of solidarity with Palestine.

Ralliers held up signs promoting peace, and say they want to see an end to U.S. support of Israel.
