Charlottesville's Senior Center hopes the holidays inspire the community's generosity. The center's annual fund campaign is going into its final month.
The campaign collects about $100,000 in donations each year to support the center's programs for aging adults. Right now, the annual fund is only about a third of the way toward its goal, with $35,000 raised.
Senior Center Deputy Director Sarah Althoff stated, "The Senior Center is all privately funded, which means we get no government support, which means individual philanthropy is critically important for us to be able to provide programs and services. Our annual fund campaign does just that. It makes sure we're able to sustain as well as grow both our programs and services each year."
The annual fund collection continues until December 31. Donors can contribute in person at the center on Pepsi Place or online. Click here to donate online.
