The number of people without a job is down across Virginia and the Charlottesville area.
According to the Virginia Employment Commission, the jobless rate in the Charlottesville area dropped in October to 4.5 percent. That's down from 4.7 percent in September, and 5.0 percent one year ago.
Across Virginia, unemployment is down to 5.4 percent last month. That's down from 5.6 percent in September and 6.0 percent last year.
The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce says this shows more and more things are moving in the right direction.
